Pros and cons of done-in-one implants

During the course of a lifetime, we can lose a tooth here and there. This happens due to age, accidents, poor hygiene habits and other reasons. Previous generations usually settled for uncomfortable dental bridges or glued-in dentures. If they did get dental implants, the procedure took many months. Today, dentists get all the needed steps done in just one day.

The Done-in-One Procedure

The one-day dental implant process involves many coordinated steps, but the process is completed in one facility and basically within one day. Here is what you can expect the procedure to look like:

Consultation

You’ll meet our team and receive a tour of our facility. Then we’ll ask you what dental problem you want us to fix. We’ll take 3D images and digital scans.

Treatment Plan

We’ll look at the images and scans to determine what you need. We’ll come up with a treatment plan that we will discuss with you.

Surgical Procedures

In the surgical operatory, we’ll sedate you to the level needed for the surgery being performed. This is when we extract teeth, do a bone augmentation or a sinus lift, place implants and/or whatever else is needed. If getting dentures, we’ll place two implants towards the front of the jaw and two more towards the back. Your dentures would simply snap onto these implants.

Recovery

While you rest at home or in your hotel, certified lab technicians will use your mouth and face scans as references to design and manufacture your individual teeth or your snap-in dentures/prosthetics.

Permanent Teeth Placement

You’ll come back the next morning for your teeth placement. Adjustments will be made before the teeth are permanently attached to the implant posts we placed in your mouth the previous day.

Pros of Having a One-Day Dental Implant Procedure Done

The short time it takes to receive one-day dental implants is the major advantage of this state-of-the-art technology. Healing time between steps has been a primary reason that getting just a few implants the traditional way takes months to complete. The secret to performing the one-day dental implant procedure is the material used. You don’t spend time with a temporary acrylic restoration. You leave with the permanent titanium metal framework or bar on the underside of your dental bridges.

Whether you’re receiving done-in-one implants or settling for traditional implants, replacing lost, cracked or otherwise damaged teeth greatly benefits everybody who needs replacements. They’re natural-looking, durable, and they reliably stay in place. All dental implant tooth replacements also solve problems. For instance, having one tooth missing can be a cosmetic problem, and it can cause a person to develop gum disease. Missing several teeth would give you cosmetic, chewing and speaking problems. If you are missing all your teeth, the basic structure of your face has changed, your jawbone may degenerate, and you might have breathing issues at night. You also have a high level of the aforementioned cosmetic, chewing and speaking problems that would negatively affect daily life. Mass-produced sets of false teeth don’t fit everyone, but custom-made implanted dentures do. Dental implants would solve these problems.

Cons of Having a One-Day Procedure

The cost of having one-day implants done is the main drawback. Each single-tooth implant costs between $1,000 and $3,000. Fortunately, a treatment coordinator would work with you to create an affordable payment plan. This may include monthly financing. Getting dentures would take six months, start to finish. The entire procedure could actually take up to a year. The site also points out that some surgical procedures may require some time to heal before continuing on with having the implants done. A third concern may be fear. It may be scary to be put under anesthesia for surgery. However, being able to smile, eat, speak and breathe will make it all worth the extra appointments and manufacturing time.

According to the American College of Prosthodontists, around 120 million U.S. citizens have at least one missing tooth. There are many good reasons to have a one-day dental implant procedure done and not many reasons not to. Contact Brand New Smile Dental Implant Center for a complete dental restoration.
